Pastor's Message (August 2015)

Created: Sunday, August 2, 2015

Going into our third month this summer, I’ve had one of the best experiences thus far - our church outing to idyllic Holmes on July 25. Without a doubt, this is a place where new memories can be built, embracing the here and now within the serenity of God’s beautiful creation as its best.

All through the summer I have also had the opportunity to walk about our neighborhood, admiring the blooming front yards, some with interesting vegetable gardens. Our church’s own garden has a special place in my heart ever since I became familiar with its existence. While being engaged in serious conversations with the Pastoral Nominating Committee, the garden became a place I longed to see. One day, my dream came true, as I had the opportunity to join members and friends for the spring clean-up day. For me, this became a joyous and most meaningful experience!

In light of the above, we are proud to share that our son Clint has taken up a growing interest for gardening. Intrigued, inspired, and encouraged by our church’s own Master Gardener, Dolores Joseph, Clint made and set up a vegetable garden bed which can be seen from the church kitchen and office windows. We share in this excitement, seeing it all come together as a result of carefully tending the garden with all that it entails.

As you enjoy the rest of your summer, and with the month of August before us, I would like to take the opportunity to extend the invitation to join us on Saturday mornings for our morning walk and devotional time. It is nice, quiet, and (usually) cool in the morning as we start at 8:00 AM. The walk in the neighborhood is always refreshing, both physically and spiritually. Having said this, you just never know the people you’ll meet and the lives that you can affect. Hence, remember when God blesses us, we are a blessing to others!

As you live, love, and enjoy your life in the Lord, may He bless and strengthen you anew!

In Christ,
Pastor Anette
