Pastor's Monthly Letter (September 2016)

Dear Friends,

It’s almost time to leave the hot summer months behind and shift gear as we’re heading to receive the season of Fall. Ready or not, Fall comes into our lives with full speed while preparing us for a tangible spiritual journey ahead. With the Spirit of God moving, our faith-based lives will be blessed to inhale and exhale all of what the Spirit has in store for us.

Reflecting upon our summer; we’ve had many happenings within all aspects of our ministries! We’ve also had reunions with family and friends, visiting from near and far. Needless to say, we are truly blessed since the network of friends is rapidly growing! It is an exciting time in the life of the church where we together can discover and enjoy open windows of opportunities! There is something for all - only the sky is the limit. For the believer, every day is special when we invite our beautiful Creator to be part of it. Having said this, nothing will ever be the same again because of God who makes everything new.

With my husband working, and son attending a week-long camp with his scout troop at the Ten Mile River in upstate New York, I headed out for a little vacation on my own to Missouri and the southern and  western parts of Illinois. My days were not only relaxing but also exciting! Besides finding myself on the wrong train mere minutes away from departure, my rental car seemed to have had a mind of its own! Then - to what might have been for me the biggest challenge of all - direction! If there is such a thing in the Guinness Book of World Records for the number of times a person got lost, some may say I would qualify!

There I was, determined to find my way no matter what, without a map, GPS, and for the most part while driving through the more rural areas of the land, with no one to ask. Despite it all, I decided to not overwhelm myself with anxiety but to trust upon God’s presence and guidance. Instead of fear, it became a moment of excitement of the road less travelled. With the attitude of excitement for the unknown, I thoroughly enjoyed it all and embraced the concept that I can because of God who strengthens and prepares me for life’s many difficult journeys, no matter how many roadblocks or detours.

Whatever challenge comes, trust upon God’s strength and know you’re never alone.

In Christ,
Pastor Anette
