FPCN Participates in Breast Cancer Walk on Sun. Oct.16

Created: Sunday, September 25, 2016

FPCN is once again asking for your support as our team participates in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. The walk will take place on Sun. Oct. 16 starting at 10:00 AM in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. (If the New York Mets make the Major League Baseball playoffs, the walk may be rescheduled.)

You can help in many ways:

  • Donate online to our team or sponsor a participant at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/fpcn-in-action. Our team name is FPCN in Action and the event is Making Strides Queens.
  • Send a tax-deductible check payable to the American Cancer Society (not to the church) to:

ATTN: Jacinth Hanson
First Presbyterian Church of Newtown
54-05 Seabury St.
Elmhurst, NY 11373

  • Walk with us and get sponsors. Join online at the link above or speak to Jacinth Hanson, Adriane Allaen, Verene Samuels, or Margaret Okon about ways to participate and support our team.
  • Sponsor a participant by donating cash or check to a walker.

Your donations provide access to free information and services, provide transportation assistance to and from treatment, provide free lodging for those who have to travel for treatment, fund workshops for female patients on beauty techniques, fund emotional support groups, fund cancer education classes, and fund online survivor support groups.

Help us reach our 2016 team goal of $5,000! Since 2013, we have raised more than $11,000!
