Pastor's Monthly Letter (January 2017)

Created: Saturday, December 31, 2016

By the time your eyes meet my words, I will have travelled on the railroad across the states of our nation, reminiscing on the happenings throughout the year.  Some may say where did it go? What we do with the time that’s been given to us is a matter of one’s stewardship, i.e. that of time. Having said this, while time is given, it is also received, whereupon one’s priorities may come into perspective.

As for a spiritual inspirational tool; the third chapter of Ecclesiastes gives us several beautiful references of time. In light of the above paragraph, here is what we can determine - what we do with what we’ve got matters indeed. However, what makes a difference in the Christian’s life is activeness, hence there is no such thing as a non-active believer. The Christian life calls for activeness, a place the believer is called to be, and naturally a place where the believer wants to be.

To welcome a new year is to welcome new possibilities that come to pass. Thus, God’s Holy Spirit, whose being is always active in the believer’s heart, yearn for a state of blessedness amidst chaos. Rest assured, the Spirit of the living God is with us time and time again, and nothing could come in its way. Through and through; called, transformed, shaped, and equipped with any and every spiritual tool necessary for the journey ahead – that which makes us active partners in God’s never-ending ministry!

As active partners in God’s ministry, every time we have the opportunity to fellowship with believers of other churches, we should embrace that togetherness as part of our gift of time. It is one of those moments that God has given us to grow anew in our faith, enabling the Spirit to strengthen us! To be and to have a fellow believer in Christ separates us from the world. Together in faith, we are strong. However, as partners in Christ’s active ministry, we are the best that we can be because of God, who daily and hourly calls upon us to renew our commitment as faithful believers! Hence, renewing ones commitment to Christ is crucial for growth to take place.

Embrace the opportunities as they come, and enjoy the year ahead!

In Christ,
Pastor Anette
