Outreach

FPCN works with others around us to meet our community's needs.

Community Needs

FPCN's deacons have a duty to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith. They play a leading role in our community work. Every Sunday, deacons deliver flowers to home-bound members of our congregation.

We have an ongoing food drive in which food donated by church members is distributed by FPCN's deacons to local residents in need. On the last Sunday of every month, we hold a canned food drive in which we invite people to bring a can of food to the Sunday morning worship service, where prayers and blessings will be offered. Every November, our deacons put together food baskets to be distributed to needy people in Queens for Thanksgiving. In addition, we regularly collect much-needed supplies to send to our troops overseas.

Under the direction of Dolores Joseph, our Garden Club grows a variety of herbs and vegetables on our front lawn. We make a variety of vegetables available for purchase at a very reasonable cost.
